President Barack Obama cracked a few jokes when he appeared on an episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that aired on Thursday, March 20. Video of his appearance on the show can be seen below.
One of his best jokes came after DeGeneres apologized for breaking Obama's Twitter record for most retweeted tweet in history with the star-studded selfie Bradley Cooper and a few others took with her at the Oscars on March 2.
The record was previously held by President Obama with a tweet from his account on Nov. 6, 2012, in which he celebrated his reelection.
"I broke your retweet record," DeGeneres said.
"I heard about that. I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt myself," Obama said. "Getting a bunch of celebrities in the background, feeding them pizza."
The president also joked about recent photos that showed him shopping at the Gap and buying sweaters for his daughters Malia and Sasha.
"Well, I thought they were pretty nice sweaters and Malia and Sasha -- they did not scowl when I brought them in," Obama said. "Which was a good sign. I mean, they didn't immediately say, 'Eww. That's terrible.'"
Later on in the interview, Obama talked to DeGeneres about his health insurance initiative and admitted that while he has seen "House of Cards," he has yet to watch "Scandal."
"I have to tell ya, life in Washington is a little more boring than displayed on the screen," Obama said. "The truth of the matter is, if you followed me, most of my day is sitting in a room listening to a bunch of folks in gray suits talking about a whole bunch of stuff that wouldn't make very good television."
