South LA kidnap/assault suspect sketch released

The Los Angeles Police Department released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted for a kidnap and sexual assault that took place on March 20, 2014.

The Los Angeles Police Department released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted for kidnap and sexual assault.

A man approached a 16-year-old girl on Gage Avenue near San Pedro Street on Thursday and forced her into a white van at knifepoint. He drove the girl to an alley near Imperial Highway and New Hampshire, where the girl was able to escape.

The suspect was described as a black man with a dark complexion, black hair and brown eyes, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, between 20-33 years old.

The suspect vehicle was described as a white U-Haul cargo van.
