Brea Mall smash-and-grab robbery: Suspects target Ben Bridge Jeweler

BREA, Calif.

Authorities responded to a report of a robbery at the Ben Bridge Jewelers at Brea Mall, which is located right next to the Brea Police Department, at 7:54 p.m. Two male suspects entered the store and used a sledge hammer to smash display cases containing Rolex watches, police said.

When officers arrived, they observed two suspects running past the Civic Center. One suspect was arrested after a brief foot chase, but the second suspect got away.

A sledge hammer and a bag of watches from the store was found nearby. It was not yet known if everything that was stolen from the store was recovered.
