Mountain High Resort has been closed since early March due to a lack of snowfall. Resort officials say this is the worst snow season in nearly 50 years.

This is the third such closure in four months for Mountain High. Officials say all of the ski resorts are facing the same hardship this season.

"All of the resorts in Southern California are closed right now. We all had a shortened season," said John McColly of Mountain High Resort.

McColly said they normally get 125 inches of snow in one season, but this year, they've only received about 25 inches of natural snow.

"It's incredibly disappointing. I mean, we love to ski and snowboard, so personally, I want to see the mountain white," McColly said.

Officials say they need a lot more snow than what fell overnight before they even think about reopening the resorts.
