A homeless man has been sentenced to 45 days in county jail after pleading no contest to trespassing at Selena Gomez's home.
The transient, Che Cruz, 20, pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of unauthorized entry of a dwelling house on Wednesday, April 2, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com. In addition to jail time, he was also sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to stay away from the singer and is prohibited from possessing weapons.
Police arrested Cruz on March 30 at night after finding him hiding inside the bathroom of a guesthouse on the 5-bedroom home, which Gomez reportedly purchased for about $3 million, according to Us Weekly. Gomez was inside the main property at the time, the outlet said.
The singer has had to deal with similar incidents in the past. In January, another man, Juan Garcia, was arrested after police found him trespassing on a different home owned by Gomez. He pleaded no contest and was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
In 2011, another man, Thomas Brodnicki, was arrested for stalking Gomez and threatening to harm her. He was issued a three-year restraining order.
