Officers received a 911 call about an assault shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of East Imperial Highway. A group of men were beating another man, who was then dragged into a nearby car and pushed in, a witness told police.
The car sped away, but officers arrived and found a significant amount of blood and other evidence that indicated a crime may have occurred, police said.
There are surveillance cameras in the area. Detectives are going through video to try to find clues that might help identify the victim as well as the suspects.
