Homeless vets get free health, job services

Hundreds of homeless veterans are bussed in from all over and can get free medical screenings, clothes and access to education and employment services. The event is run by volunteers and private donations, and all services are free of charge.

Giving back to those who gave so much is the purpose of a three-day event that kicked off Friday.

For the third year in a row, the Vet Hunters Project along with the San Gabriel Valley Veterans Employment Committee has put on the "Heroes in the Shadows" event.
