Roshawn Davis was arrested at his Saddlebrook Lane home Tuesday. He is facing 16 counts of suspicion of attempted child molestation and one count of statutory rape.
In February, a sheriff's deputy was alerted that sexually explicit pictures of middle school-age girls were being posted to a social media website.
Investigators then found several of the victims, who allegedly were lured through the website and assaulted by the suspect.
Davis is being held on $2 million bail. He could be sentenced to life in prison.
News of the case was withheld until Saturday.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information was urged to contact the sheriff's Moreno Valley station at (951) 486-6823.
