Carl Astrera, 35, who taught at Legacy Christian Academy, was arrested on March 26 for allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior with an 11-year-old boy at the school.
Astrera had expected to make a plea at his preliminary arraignment Wednesday, when the deputy district attorney moved to dismiss the case.
Many parents had been supportive of the teacher, even rallying with T-shirts that read "#Truthwillprevail."
School officials released a statement that said they had no reason to believe Astrera did anything wrong.
