Claremont sexual predator identified, arrested

CLAREMONT, Calif.

Joseph Davall, of Yucca Valley, was arrested at his home. He was being held at the Claremont City jail on $100,000 bail.

On Thursday, the Los Angeles County Crime lab told Claremont detectives that crime scene evidence identified Davall, which was confirmed by a second lab.

Police attempted to arrest Davall just before 7 a.m. Friday during a traffic stop near his home. However, Davall did not stop and led police in a short pursuit back to his home. He was then arrested.

A search warrant was served at his home and other evidence recovered.

Claremont Police did not release a booking photo of Davall because he may be wanted for similar crimes in other parts of Southern California. A composite image of the suspect was created after the sexual assault was reported in March.

Investigators allege Davall sexually attacked a girl in her bedroom while she was sleeping in her Claremont home on March 21.

Police said Davall has a criminal record, including arrests for domestic violence.
