LAPD officer hurt in Northridge 4-car crash

NORTHRIDGE, LOS ANGELES

According to LAPD Capt. Charles Phillip Hearn with the Topanga Division, a female officer was responding to a call around 4:30 p.m. when her cruiser was hit at the intersection of Parthenia Street and Tampa Avenue. The car that hit the cruiser spun out and hit a truck head-on, causing the truck to back up into another car.

A total of four cars were involved in the crash, including the police car, Hearn said.

It is unclear what kind of injuries the officer had, but Hearn said she is in a lot of pain.

Two other people, including a 6-year-old girl, were also transported with minor injuries.

LAPD Devonshire and LAPD Valley Traffic both responded to the scene.
