Kids, Meg Ryan may have a very, very long story to tell.
The actress, 52, has reportedly been cast as the narrator in the CBS pilot "How I Met Your Dad," the proposed spinoff of the series "How I Met Your Mother," according to Deadline and Entertainment Weekly. CBS had no immediate comment about the reports.
Ryan's role as narrator would be similar to that of Bob Saget's role on "How I Met Your Mother," which never showed the actor onscreen. The show wrapped after nine seasons on the air in March 2014. Actress Greta Gerwig was cast as the female lead in the "How I Met Your Dad" pilot in February. The show reportedly takes on a similar concept as its predecessor.
In recent years, Ryan has appeared in television programs such as "Web Therapy" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." She rose to fame in romantic comedy films such as "When Harry Met Sally," You've Got Mail," "Sleepless in Seattle" and "When A Man Loves A Woman."
