"Dancing With The Stars" season 18 contestant Danica McKellar says she broke her rib during a recent rehearsal ahead of next week's Latin night and has asked her Twitter followers for their prayers.
The "Wonder Years" alum had this week practiced a solo Salsa dance with partner Val Chmerkovskiy as well as a group "Team Dance" that the two were set to perform on Monday's show -- the seventh week of competition.
"So...I broke a rib in yesterday's #DWTS rehearsal," McKellar tweeted on Friday, April 25. "Trying my best to pull thru and could use your prayers!! #wanttokeepdancing."
Chmerkovskiy had said on his Twitter page: "Very very tough week #very."
This marks the second public injury of the season. It was announced on week 3 that "Star Wars" actor Billy Dee Williams had withdrawn from the competition after hurting his back.
Chmerkovskiy said McKellar was "very small and tender" but "strong," adding: "When I dance, I'm very physical. I can't really control it because if I start to control it, then I'm not giving 100 percent of how I feel in the moment. And so, that combination is very brutal sometimes."
McKellar has not revealed the extent of her injury or specified whether or not she will continue competing on the show. In 2012, "Dancing With The Stars" contestant Maria Menounos broke two ribs while rehearsing with partner Derek Hough. The two came in fourth place.
McKellar and Chmerkovskiy are one of seven couples remaining in the competition and had last week received 36 out of 40 points from the judges, including guest judge Redfoo of LMFAO fame, for their Cha Cha Cha (read a RECAP of week 6).
