Welcome, Gwen Stefani, to "The Voice"!
The No Doubt member and popular pop and ska singer will serve as a coach on the NBC singing competition series next season, the network confirmed on Tuesday, April 29, following recent rumors. Aguilera had also recently tweeted about it.
" So this is happening...WELCOME @gwenstefani to #TheVoice family everyone! #NewVoiceCoach #VoiceTailgate," read a tweet posted on the show's official Twitter page.
" Alright! It's official now!" host Carson Daly added. "Welcome our friend @gwenstefani to #thevoice !!!!!"
Stefani also shared a photo of herself making the "Voice" peace sign on her Instagram page (see below).
This marks the first full-time TV gig for Stefani, who welcomed her third child, son Apollo, with husband Gavin Rossdale two months ago. She was a guest mentor on rival singing competition series "American Idol" in 2012.
Aguilera had tweeted on Monday night: "So excited to have you join #TheVoice squad @GwenStefani! Welcome to our crazy fam! Kisses- xoxo #blondesdoitbest."

The Aguilera, who is pregnant and expecting a child with fiance Matt Rutler, took the current sixth season off and also was away during season 4 to concentrate on new music.

Veteran cast members Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as Shakira and Usher, are currently serving as coaches. The latter two have so far been featured on the show during the spring seasons.
It was announced on March 31 that Pharrell Williams will serve as a coach next season on "The Voice" in place of CeeLo Green, who had held the position during the fall seasons. The full cast has not been announced.
