Ex-NFL player James Hardy arrested in LA's Westlake

LOS ANGELES

Authorities responded to a call of a man causing a disturbance at the Piero Apartments in the 600 block of St. Paul Avenue on Sunday around 4 p.m.

The 28-year-old Hardy was allegedly under the influence of narcotics and resisted arrest. Police used nonlethal force to take him into custody, but two officers were injured in the process. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Hardy was also taken to the hospital to be treated for being under the influence of narcotics. He remains at the hospital.

The former NFL wide receiver was with the Buffalo Bills in 2008 and was signed to the Ravens in 2011, but he was released before taking the field.
