Jennifer Lawrence gets candid in a new interview and opens up about her relationship with "X-Men: Days of Future Past" co-star Nicholas Hoult.
The 23-year-old Oscar winner appears on the cover of the June issue of Marie Claire (Warning: Link contains expletives), and she not only talks about her relationship, but also talks about being on the receiving end of backlash and rumors that she is jealous of Kristen Stewart.
"Looks can go pretty far," Lawrence tells the magazine about what she looks for in a guy. "Nobody can deny a beautiful face. Fortunately, I have one."
"Oh, no! I mean my boyfriend! I didn't mean my face! Oh, my God! I meant I'm with somebody who has a beautiful face," she later added, realizing how her quote must have sounded.
The actress later continued, "Humor and intelligence are key. Looks fade very quickly. I love a unique mind. Somebody who's his own person."
Lawrence and Hoult, 24, first worked together in the 2011 film "X-Men: First Class," where their romance began. The two actors have a lot of project in the works that often keep them apart, but Lawrence told the magazine that they have come to a mutual understanding about the nature of their work.
"When we're busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other. Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn't text back or call. Life's super-busy," she said. "Obviously you know what they're doing, and you trust them."
"We're so young that it would almost be like if we lived in the same city, what would happen? We'd be living together," she added. "At least this way he's in the same boat as I am: We can both go out and have our own lives and know that we have each other."
After taking a second tumble at an Oscar ceremony earlier this year (WATCH the video here), the actress was on the receiving end of internet backlash.
Even actor Jared Leto questioned if the fall was genuine. He told Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the ceremony, "I'm starting to wonder if this is a bit of an act."
"Honestly, I'm just doing my best," Lawrence told that magazine. "But if people want to start the backlash, I'm the captain of that team. As much as you hate me, I'm 10 steps ahead of you."
The actress also talked to the magazine about rumors that she is jealous of Hoult's "Equals" co-star Kristen Stewart.
"There was something in a magazine, and I was like, 'Oh, my God, that's hilarious,' because Kristen and I are friends," Lawrence explained. "I actually texted her a picture of it and was like, 'Just so you know, this is absolutely true.'"
