Dodge Charger Hellcat is all power packaged into a family-friendly design

Chrysler debuts the Dodge Charger Hellcat, a four-door car with an incredibly powerful engine.

Last year, Chrysler blew everyone away, figuratively and literally, by bringing out the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

The Hellcat features 707 horsepower, which is a lot for a modern street-legal passenger car. But there is one problem for potential buyers and that's the impracticality of a two-door design.

To solve that problem, Chrysler now has a Dodge Charger Hellcat, which features the same supercharged engine and horsepower in a family-friendly four-door body.

It has a tighter suspension, huge brakes, fat tires and supportive seats. The only thing that will show nearby drivers and friends how strong the car is will be a tiny Hellcat logo on the side of the car.

Technology helps keep the power of the engine at bay with a special red key that can access it all. Drivers can dial back the power for safety.

The folks at Chrysler designed the car to be so fast that it can reach up to 204 miles per hour on a racetrack.

The Charger Hellcat outpaces a Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG and a BMW M-5, not just in speed but in price, too.

The E 63 AMG starts at $99,000 and the M-5 is $93,000, which is about $30,000 more than the Hellcat.

The Hellcat isn't a car for everyone, and there will only be a handful at each Dodge dealership, but the car is one of the most powerful four-door sedans in the country.
