SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) --Simi Valley school officials on Tuesday voted to permanently close the town's oldest school next year.
The Simi Valley Unified School District board voted 4-1 to close Simi Elementary.
The school closed in February because of safety concerns, and classes were moved to Mountain View Elementary School. It would have cost more than $6 million to renovate the building.
The Board of Trustees says it will work with the community to create a plan to repair and preserve the building.
