IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, March 19, 2015 is Alexander Isreb, who is on a mission to bring art, music and other wonders of life to children who might otherwise miss those opportunities.

The young man is teaching kids around the world about the wonders of their own environment.

"Unfortunately, children in more impoverished areas in underdeveloped countries, specifically orphans, do not have the funding or the attention to really be given this environmental enrichment," he said.

It's an issue that is close to his heart, and he is taking on the cause with his own website, GroupofPeace.com, to raise much needed funds. Handmade bracelets, made with guitar picks, are sold on the website. The bracelets also send a message.

"It also is an affirmation to what we do for these orphans. You know, how we go to give them environmental enrichment and how we do that through different forms of art, through music, through painting," Alexander said.

Beyond arts and education, Group of Peace's mission statement wants children to learn more about the environment, especially anything involving the ocean and ways to appreciate being outside.

"We would teach them different types of knot tying. We would teach them different types of flag signaling. We would teach them things, you know, like natural things in regards to tide pools and what not. And many of them would love it," he said

His work here is just the beginning of a bright future. Alexander has his sights set on a career as a doctor. He wants to continue to help people.

"I believe that to be human and to live life it's not all about financial gain. It's all about personal gain. You know, just because you do one good deed in your life doesn't mean that there's nothing else to be done," he said.
