Cool Kid Devan Sood gives back with style
Cool Kid Devan Sood uses his eye for fashion to help people in Southern California and across the world.

MAR VISTA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, Aug. 14, is Devan Sood, who uses his eye for fashion for a good cause.

Two years ago, Sood founded Unlimited Limited Clothing as a freshman at Windward High School in Mar Vista. It was an immediate hit.

"Our first collection came out in March 2012, and we sold out in two weeks," Sood said.

But the venture wasn't just about making money. Sood wanted to put the profits towards a project with impact. That's when he got involved with Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting world peace.

"We're helping him send kids to school in India. We give proceeds to them and they put it into the foundation," Sood said.

Sood is also giving back to those who need help in his own neighborhood. He donates money and clothes to Chrysallis, an organization that focuses on helping the homeless find jobs.

"Seeing their faces and the fact that we're reaching out to help is really fulfilling. It's a very joyous day whenever I go," Sood said.

Sood has found success in the ever changing world of fashion, but he never forgets that giving back is always in style.
