WESTWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- UCLA is offering emergency assistance and interest-free loans to those who had their cars severely damaged by flooding from a water-main break on Sunset Boulevard.

The UCLA Foundation is offering $55,649 from an emergency relief fund. About 260 people who had cars seriously damaged or considered a total loss are eligible for up to $214. The school is asking those who don't have immediate financial needs to decline the money.

Emergency funds are expected to be distributed on Aug. 21.

Interest-free loans up to $5,000 are also being offered to faculty and career employees who had severely damaged cars. About 100 people are eligible.

On July 29, a water-main break on Sunset Boulevard in Westwood flooded parts of the UCLA campus, including two parking garages. About 1,000 cars were affected.
