Christmas Day movies the whole family can enjoy
While 'The Interview' is only showing at select theaters on Christmas Day, moviegoers can check out several other films that will be released nationwide.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Tomorrow, families will be opening presents and enjoying Christmas dinner. But after, many head off to the movies.

While "The Interview" is only showing at a few theaters, many other films will be released nationwide.

Here is a list of some of the upcoming movies:

"Into the Woods": This movie presents a dark twist on the brothers Grimm fairy tales and is full of big names.

Meryl Streep plays a witch, Johnny Depp is the big bad wolf, Emily Blunt and James Corden are The Baker and his wife, Anna Kendrick is Cinderella and Chris Pine plays her prince charming.

The film is based on the stage musical written by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. "Into the Woods" weaves together stories of familiar characters who achieve their "happily ever after." But each character ends up questioning what that really means.

"Unbroken": Actor Jack O'Connell plays American Olympian Louis Zamperini, a former track star who survives a plane crash, 47 days at sea and nearly three years as a Japanese prisoner of war. The movie is directed by Angelina Jolie.

Sadly, the real Zamperini never got to see his life on the big screen because he died at the age of 97 on July 2.

"Selma": This Martin Luther King Jr. biopic is a historical movie focused on the 1965 voting rights march. David Oyelowo stars as Dr. King, Jr. during the tumultuous times of the Civil Rights movement.

"Big Eyes": In this biographical film, moviegoers get a look at the divorce of 1950s artist Margaret Keane and her husband Walter Keane. The couple argued over who created the famous paintings of children with large doe eyes. This is the latest from director Tim Burton and stars Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.

"American Sniper": The Clint Eastwood-directed movie is based on real events and follows the story of a Navy Seal, portrayed by Bradley Cooper, while he is in Iraq and at home with his family. The sniper's skills during his four tours of duty earned him the nickname "The Devil of Ramadi."

"The Gambler": Mark Wahlberg plays the lead role in this film, which is a rethinking of a 1974 James Caan movie of the same name. Wahlberg takes over the role of a man who is haunted by a compulsion to gamble that eventually gets him in trouble with loan sharks.
