Kelly Ripa receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
'Live! with Kelly & Michael' host Kelly Ripa was honored with the 2,561st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "Live! with Kelly & Michael" host Kelly Ripa was honored with the 2,561st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.

Guest stars included talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and comedian Joel McHale.

"On behalf of all of us who live here in Hollywood, we are thrilled to immortalize you in asphalt," Kimmel said while introducing Ripa at the ceremony.

Ripa played Hayley Vaughan on the ABC daytime drama "All My Children."

In 2001, she succeeded Kathie Lee Gifford as host of what was then known as "Live! with Regis and Kelly."

"You have to surround yourself with people who are better than you, and that's what I've managed to do in my career," she said. "I joined this incredible acting community at 'All My Children,' and it was a brilliant ensemble cast and then I got to sit next to Regis Philbin, who taught me how to be a storyteller. Then, I got to work with Faith Ford and Ted McGinley, who taught me how to be funny and taught me about comic timing."

The 45-year-old has earned four Emmys and has been nominated for 20 Daytime Emmys throughout her career.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame honor coincides with Ripa's 15th year as host on "Live," which she now co-hosts with former football star Michael Strahan.

"Nothing makes me happier than starting my day with my Michael Strahan who has made me a better person, happier, funnier and certainly stronger. I'm way more physically fit than I've ever been because we're very competitive with each other," she said.

Ripa posted a picture on Instagram of her star with the caption, "The official star. Thank you to everyone for this extraordinary honor. #walkoffame."
