GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- It was on June 25, 2009, when Michael Jackson fans got the shocking news that the King of Pop had died. Five years later, his legacy is still alive and well.

Dozens of fans gathered Wednesday at Michael Jackson's final resting place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park-Glendale to pay their respects.

"I love Michael. He's my whole life. I miss him terribly," said one fan who traveled all the way from Florida.

Commemorations are planned around the world for the pop star, who died at age 50 of a propofol overdose as he was about to launch a major comeback tour.

Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, was ultimately arrested and convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to four years behind bars. Murray served roughly two years of the sentence, and was released from jail last October.
