LONDON (KABC) -- British model and TV personality Peaches Geldof died from a heroin overdose, a British coroner said Wednesday.

A pathologist said Geldof's blood had high levels of heroin and traces of codeine, methadone and morphine. Puncture marks were found on her arms and legs and police found heroin and syringes in the house.

Geldof's husband Thomas Cohen found the 25-year-old laying on the bed in their London home on April 7. He had returned from a weekend visiting his parents' home.

An inquest discovered that Geldof had started using heroin in February after relapsing from trying to give up the drug. Cohen said he had seen her flushing drugs down the toilet.

She had been taking methadone for more than two years to help her give up heroin.

Geldof's mother Paula Yates died of a heroin overdose when Peaches was 11.

She leaves behind her husband and two young sons.
