Rene Russo says 'Nightcrawler' doesn't trash TV news

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Rene Russo says the film "Nightcrawler" is not an indictment of the TV news business. The actress said it's a realistic portrayal of what happens in the newsroom.

Russo plays the boss in a fictional TV newsroom in the movie. She pushes many boundaries - all in the name of ratings. The film also stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a freelance cameraman who scours the streets looking for sensational stories.
