Ryan Seacrest, Jenny McCarthy host New Year's Rockin' Eve
As 2014 comes to a close, millions of people can watch the crystal ball drop in Times Square with Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Waterford Crystal Ball is the centerpiece of New Year's Eve in Time Square.

Millions will be watching as the 11,875-pound ball drops, signifying the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015. An estimated 1 million people are expected to be in attendance in Times Square as the clock strikes 12.

Among those 1 million people will be Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy, both of whom watched the show when Dick Clark used to host it.

"I always wanted to come down here and hang out just as somebody that watched it. So to be able to be right under it and next to it is pretty fun," Seacrest said.

"And I remember watching it thinking, 'Oh my gosh, New York City looks so amazing. I wonder if I'd be there some day?' And the fact that I'm co-hosting kind of blows my mind," McCarthy said.

Police by the thousands will be monitoring the Times Square crowd, with another 100 people monitoring all the cameras set up around the vicinity. McCarthy and Seacrest will be happy to be in the middle of the madness, even in the 27 degree weather.

"You can't feel your mouth move after a while, your fingers are frozen, but it's worth it every year, isn't it?" McCarthy said.

"You kind of forget about all of that when you're in the moment...and then afterwards, you realize how cold and how long you were out there freezing," Seacrest said.

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve starts at 8 p.m. tonight.
