HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The latest star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was awarded to Usher.

The eight-time Grammy award-winning singer was presented with the walk's 2,588th star on Wednesday, before a crowd that included Stevie Wonder and will.i.am.

Usher Raymond IV has an album, "Hard to Love," coming out next week and stars in the new film "Hands of Stone."

Usher has sold more than 65 million albums and had nine Hot 100 No. 1 hits

At the ceremony, he thanked his family, friends and mentors - but most of all, his fans. He joked about them keeping his star, near Hollywood Boulevard and Argyle Avenue, clean for him.

"It is because of you guys that I have this moment. It is because of you that this shining star will be here. I leave it up to you. It is your responsibility to come down here every chance you get to shine my star. That's the smallest thing I can ask of you right now. Especially given the fact that I'm going to be walked on."
