RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- The ex-wife of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright made her first court appearance in Riverside Monday morning in connection with Wright's 2010 murder in Tennessee.

Sherra Wright arrived in court in a wheelchair. The extradition hearing to have her taken to Tennessee was delayed to Wednesday while she undergoes a medical evaluation.

Sherra Wright, 38, was arrested on Friday night in Norco and charged with first-degree murder.

Lorenzen Wright was a first-round draft pick by the Clippers in 1996 who went on to play for the Memphis Grizzlies. The Memphis native went missing in July 2010 after he made a 911 call.

Ten days later, his decomposing body was found in suburban Memphis on July 28, 2010. He had been shot multiple times.

The case had gone cold up until last month when investigators found a murder weapon at the bottom of a lake in Walnut, Mississippi. That led to the indictment of Billy R. Turner two weeks ago on a first-degree murder charge.

Sherra Wright is accused of conspiring with Turner to kill her ex-husband. She received $1 million from her ex-husband's life insurance policy, and she was allegedly going to share that money with Turner.

Media reports have said Turner, a landscaper, and Sherra Wright attended the same church. Turner has pleaded not guilty.

At his arraignment hearing, Lorenzen Wright's mother couldn't hold back, shouting: "How could you have murdered my son?"
