LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- The Long Beach community stepped in Sunday to support a baby diagnosed with a rare cancer by holding a dog washing fundraiser.

Bark Bark, a store on Atlantic Avenue, hosted the event. The owner is friends with the family of 14-month old Andrew Wratten, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of neuroblastoma.

"One thing we ask for and pray for is that people keep him in their minds and hearts and prayers for the next couple years until he finally recovers from this," said Andrew's mother Linda Wratten, who is five-months pregnant.

Andrew Wratten is the son of a Pasadena police officer and the grandson of a retired LAPD officer.

Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union is accepting donations for Wratten.
