Tyler and Haylee have been dating for about seven years, and Tyler had a great relationship with Mr. Rose, the video explains. But Haylee's dad passed away in 2014, so Tyler never got a chance to ask him for his blessing. Instead, he decided to ask all three of Haylee's siblings and write a letter to Haylee's dad.

All three siblings were overjoyed to give their blessing. One brother, Grant, said, "Dad would 100 percent want you guys to get married."

It was then time to pull off the final step -- asking Haylee. Tyler took his girlfriend on a trip to Europe, set up a camera on a street in Rome and he got down on one knee. In the video, Haylee says yes as Tyler finishes reading his letter: "I'll make you proud to call me your son, Tyler."

Tyler, a professional YouTuber, created the video as part of his project, TribeTyler, which documents every day of his 20s in a video blog. He started it in August 2013, before Haylee's dad died.

He finished the video by thanking both Haylee's family, his own family and Haylee.

"We've been through a lot, but I'm lucky to have you as my #1," he wrote.
