LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- For many people, Thanksgiving leftovers are one of the best parts of the holiday. Just make sure those leftovers don't make you sick.

Health experts say the most common issues are not getting leftovers in the refrigerator soon enough, then not getting food hot enough when you re-heat.

They say it's important not to let food sit out at room temperature for more than two hours. And when in doubt, throw it out.

No one likes to waste food, but experts say it's not worth spending a few days with food-borne illness.
