Experts say not drinking enough water can impact student health and grades.

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Experts say not drinking enough water can impact student health and grades.

A recent Harvard study found that 25 percent of children don't drink water as part of their daily fluid intake and most school age kids suffer from mild dehydration.

That's why student leaders at Manual Arts High School in South Los Angeles lobbied administrators to provide free access to filtered water.

The students connected with the non-profit LA's Promise, Mission Readiness and Brita as part of their national "Drink Up" water campaign.

Health Specialist Denise Dador reveals how they hope a new water station may help their cause in the video above.
