SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KABC) -- Gloveworx in Santa Monica combines real boxing moves with interval training to give you a full-body workout.
Owner Leyon Azubuike says boxing offers a great workout while taking pressure off your joints versus running on a treadmill for hours.
"It's definitely a good, hard workout, very effective. It can be done by anybody," Azubuike said.
Exercising inside an actual boxing ring versus just a solid surface makes a difference. Azubuike said it is good for balance, proprioception and strengthening your core and legs.
