It's World Ballet Day -- the first ever day-long celebration of classical dance. In honor of the day, the world's most famous ballet companies are pulling back the curtains to give the public an inside look at the everyday lives of their professional dancers.

But today isn't just about the professionals. Last week, the ballet world extended a challenge to dancers and non-dancers alike -- give dance a twirl, literally, and post videos of their pirouettes online.
