MURRIETA, Calif. (KABC) -- The Liberty Fire, which chewed through 300 acres and destroyed one home in Murrieta, was fully contained Sunday.

The brusher started around 1:15 p.m. Thursday near Los Alamos Road and Liberty Road. It also leveled six outbuildings.

The blaze prompted some evacuations. As a precaution, all 20 campuses within the Murrieta Valley Unified School District were closed Friday. All evacuation orders were then lifted by noon Friday.

By Sunday morning, Cal Fire officials said the blaze was completely contained.
