Man gets 16-to-life in reality-star girlfriend's death
A Redondo Beach man convicted of killing his reality star girlfriend has been sentenced to 16-years-to-life in prison.

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A Redondo Beach man convicted of second-degree murder for killing his reality star girlfriend was sentenced to 16 years to life in prison on Tuesday.

Robert Reagan, 53, was sentenced for the July 22, 2015 stabbing death of Loredana Nesci.

Reagan's attorney argued at trial that his client acted in self-defense, claiming she tried to attack him with a knife.

Officers were sent to the couple's home on an emergency call from a "distraught" man, later identified as Reagan, and discovered the 47-year-old victim dead inside.

Nesci, a former Los Angeles Police Department officer-turned criminal defense attorney, had her own reality show on the SundanceTV network called "Loredana, ESQ." It touched on her home life and career as an attorney.

Reagan appeared on the six-episode series, which documented the couple's struggle with mounting bills and arguments over the care of their young son while he was traveling to develop a beverage business.

Redondo Beach police said the 5-year-old boy was not home at the time of the crime.
