Man in Rosemead shot, killed Thanksgiving night
A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in Rosemead Thanksgiving night.

ROSEMEAD, Calif. (KABC) -- A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of another man who was shot in Rosemead Thanksgiving night.

Zhongqiang Meng was arrested Friday morning after he turned himself in to officers at the Monterey Park Police Department, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's officials.

A man in his 50s was shot shortly before 6:30 p.m. in the 8000 block of Emerson Place. Officials said he was gunned down in his driveway as he returned home.

The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said two people were detained but not taken into custody.

Meng was transported to the Temple Sheriff's Station, where he was booked for murder and is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.

A motive behind the shooting was not immediately known.
