NEWHALL, Calif. (KABC) --Ten mobiles homes at the Crescent Valley Mobile Estates in Newhall were evacuated Wednesday.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department evacuated residents from 10 mobile homes in the 23500 block of The Old Road due to debris and mudflow in the Calgrove burn area.
Seventy other mobiles homes were not evacuated, but residents were keeping a close eye on the saturated hillsides.
Heavy rain sent mudflow several feet deep roaring off the charred hillsides, which were left bare by the June wildfire. No one was injured and no homes were damaged.
The heavy rain proved too much for storm drains along the 5 Freeway in Sun Valley as the freeway turned into a pond, trapping vehicles which had to be pushed out of the water.
