Body found in container in Crenshaw District may be missing man
Homicide detectives were investigating the scene where a decomposed body was found inside a container in the Crenshaw District on Saturday.

CRENSHAW DISTRICT, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Homicide detectives were investigating the scene where a decomposed body was found inside a container in the Crenshaw District on Saturday.

Los Angeles police said an apartment building manager found the container inside a unit in the 4100 block of Santo Tomas Drive around 1:50 p.m.

Family members said the man who rented the apartment is 52-year-old Terry Benjamin and believe he is the victim.

The same family members reported Benjamin missing on Jan. 4.

Police said they were working to identify the victim and how the person died.

Earlier reports stated the home where the body was found was in Leimert Park. Eyewitness News later confirmed the home was in the Crenshaw District.
