VIDEO: Deputy hit, thrown by tractor-trailer miraculously survives

EATON, Ohio (KABC) -- Terrifying dash-cam video shows a tractor-trailer hitting and running over a sheriff's captain in Ohio.

The incident happened on Jan. 8, but the Preble County Sheriff's Office released the video on Monday.

In the video, Capt. Brad Moore was seen directing vehicles after a minor traffic accident had occurred. The tractor-trailer stopped briefly near train tracks, and the crossing gates came down.

A train slammed into the trailer, sending it hurtling toward Moore.

He was hit once, but escaped the trailer's wheels thanks to a small incline that sent him rolling to safety.

Moore has been recovering from two gashes on his head and a broken hand suffered.
