El Nino-fueled snow packs mountain with skiers, snowboarders
Skiers and snowboarders flocked to local mountains on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, following the latest burst of El Nino-fueled snowfall.

RUNNING SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- In addition to the heavy rain, the latest El Nino- fueled storm brought new snow to local mountains.

The Bear Valley Unified School District canceled classes on Monday day due snow drifts on the road, prompting more skiers and snowboarders on the mountains.

Those planning to take a snowy mountain adventure were reminded to bring their tire chains, as those without chains were turned away by the California Highway Patrol.

In the video above, ABC7 reporter Leticia Juarez takes us to Running Springs to show how much snow the recent storm brought.
