CARSON, Calif. (KABC) -- Family and friends gathered for a service in Carson to remember the life of a 1-year-old girl shot and killed while she slept in her crib in Compton earlier this month.

It was a heartbreaking day for loved ones of Autumn Johnson as dozens attended the funeral at Judson Baptist Church.

Eyewitness News was the only television crew allowed inside the service.

Deputies said the child was shot in the head while in her crib inside a converted garage apartment in the 300 block of Holly Avenue near San Marcus Street in Compton on Feb. 9. She was later pronounced dead at St. Francis Medical Center.

The shooting was believed to be gang-related.

Authorities said the male suspect exited a blue, four-door, newer model Chevrolet Impala, opened fire toward the garage, jumped back inside the vehicle driven by an accomplice and then fled the scene.

A $75,000 reward was offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
