A vigil was held Saturday night for two teenage brothers killed in a car crash in Palmdale.

A vigil was held Saturday night for two teenage brothers killed in a car crash in Palmdale.

Cruz Flores, 19, and Jesus Flores, 16, died at the scene of the collision near Lasker Avenue and E. Avenue R at about 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officials said their vehicle was making a U-turn when it was broadsided by another car going the same direction. A person in the other car was injured with non-life threatening injuries.

Dozens of people gathered for a candlelight vigil in memory of the beloved teens.

"They were just bright, lovable kids. They didn't have an evil bone in their body. They always wanted to hug, smile and laugh" said Belinda Welch, a relative.

Family members said the older brother graduated from Palmdale High School and was preparing to go to college. The younger Flores was on the swim team. They were both described as smart and loving.

"They weren't some kind of teenagers having fun in the streets," Welch said. "No, those two boys stood together. They were probably best friends...I know they were because where one was, the other was, and they were always together."

A GoFundMe page was made by family members of the brothers killed in the crash. To donate, visit https://www.gofundme.com/s5q33pek
