Car-theft suspect caught after short foot chase by LAPD

A car-theft suspect is in custody after a short pursuit in neighborhoods west of downtown Los Angeles.

Police began chasing the suspect around 10:30 p.m.

After spike strips disabled the stolen white Hyundai near 7th Street and Westmoreland Avenue, he fled on foot.

Officers closed down streets in the area and eventually caught the suspect in the 600 block of Shatto Place.
