Lightning struck trees and sparked fires on Monday, as an El Nino-powered storm rolled across the Southland.

Firefighters in Compton said they responded to a tree fire sparked by lightning around 6:30 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Eyewitness News viewer Rosie said she saw the fire break out in the 700 block of South Harris Avenue.

Eyewitness News viewer Ken Chung shared video of another tree fire sparked by lightning in Koreatown near 2nd and Mariposa streets.
