MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was arrested in Moreno Valley Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence after she was spotted driving on the wrong side of the 60 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol officers began receiving multiple reports around midnight of a wrong way driver in a silver Lexus traveling eastbound on the westbound lanes of the freeway.

The 911 caller told authorities the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed near Box Springs Road.

CHP officers were able to catch up with the vehicle just west of Gilman Springs Road in Moreno Valley, at which point they attempted to make contact with the female driver. All westbound lanes were blocked and the driver was eventually forced to stop, authorities said.

An officer had to help the woman from falling during a field sobriety test. She was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of DUI.
