BELMONT, Bronx -- A grieving dog owner in the Bronx is now planning to sue the New York Police Department after an officer shot and killed her beloved pet.
The deadly encounter was caught on camera in the Belmont section.
The dog's owner opened the door after hearing police in the hall.
When the pit bull walked toward an officer, wagging its tail, the officer shot it in the head.
The owner, Yvonne Rosado, is suing the department and the city.
The NYPD said it's investigating the incident.
