Burglar steals cash register from Hermosa Beach restaurant in 36 seconds

HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Hermosa Beach police say it took a burglar just 36 seconds to break into a sushi restaurant and flee with the cash register.

Surveillance video shows the quick-moving crook throwing a rock through the glass front door of GuGu Sushi and Roll in the 1100 block of Aviation Blvd around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The unidentified suspect crawls through the opening, grabs the cash register and takes off in a Toyota 4Runner.
