FALLBROOK, Calif. (KABC) -- Friends of a 38-year-old woman are mourning her death after a small plane crash landed on a car in San Diego County and crushed her.

Federal investigators were trying to figure out what caused the aircraft to come down on the 15 Freeway near Fallbrook Saturday morning.

Antoinette Isbelle was killed after the single-engine plane landed on its belly into a car that was stopped on the shoulder of the road. The victim was in the back seat.

Friends said the thought of losing her has been unbearable. Longtime friend Shane Zelm said Isbelle, who skated with a roller derby team, was full of energy.

"All of us friends just kept saying, 'We just can't believe it,' just waiting for it not to be true. The outpouring has been very positive, it's the one thing we can lean on and take away from all this," he said.

Other passengers in the car and the two people onboard the plane were also injured in the crash.
